The Common Redpoll is a small taiga/tundra finch, which is seen in the southern regions of Canada and the northern regions of the US during the winter months. They are a common sight around bird feeders and pasture type fields at this time of the year. The Common Redpoll is seen throughout Eurasia as well.
This northern finch has at least four sub-species. They are the Common Redpoll (Southern), Common Redpoll (Greenland), Common Redpoll (Hoary) and the Common Redpoll (Hoary Greenland).
